Cornelius Road Park
The Mooresville Town Board of Commissioners approved a $7.33 million contract with G.L. Wilson Co. to complete the development of Cornelius Road Park. The project includes constructing three new turf soccer fields, upgraded lighting, a shelter with restrooms, and a food truck plaza. The project also includes a 288-space parking area with five charging stations for electric vehicles. CESI provides comprehensive materials testing and inspection, and surveying services for the Cornelius Road Park – Phase 2 project.
Our scope includes:
- Subgrade evaluation: Observing proofrolling and verifying subgrade stability for fill, curbs, base courses, and asphalt.
- Bearing grade testing: Conducting penetrometer tests to confirm bearing pressures and assess subgrade suitability.
- Field density testing: Testing compacted earth fill and storm trench backfill to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Concrete testing: On-site testing for temperature, slump, air content, and mix design; lab testing for compressive strength.
- Structural inspections: Ensuring proper reinforcement placement and inspecting welded and bolted steel connections.
- Wet pond testing: Performing infiltration and soil liner suitability tests for the proposed pond.
- Reporting: Providing daily updates and formal evaluations with timely communication of deficiencies.
- Provided horizontal and vertical control and staked silt fence.
