Novi Lofts
CESI performed a boundary and topographic survey for Novi Lofts in Concord. The survey was used to assist with the due diligence process and to aid in the civil site design. Post Construction As-Built surveys were also performed to satisfy lender and municipal requirements.
This project also included the civil engineering design and permitting for the new 7-story mixed-use development/redevelopment of the municipal building and site located at 26 Union Street. The civil design included limited elements of site layout and handicap accessibility, storm drainage, erosion control, water and sewer connections, and landscaping. The new structure includes underground parking and building access will be from both Union Street and Market Street.
Other tasks involved Construction Phase Services such as addressing contractor questions, attending pre-construction and on-site meetings, materials and shop drawing submittal reviews, as required by the owner.
CESI’s Geotechnical department also performed soil test borings within the proposed development area during site design.
Prior to geotechnical drill arrival, CESI used an 8-inch wet core bit to drill through the existing concrete. Once drilled, the core was removed for geotechnical drill rig access. Standard penetration tests (ASTM D1586) and soil sampling were performed at 2.5-foot intervals in the upper 10 feet and 5-foot intervals thereafter to the termination depths.
